Who wants to help give away over half a million ice creams?
Um, everyone. Here’s how:
Ice Cream Man has been giving away thousands of free treats at The Pool Parties (and the world) for the last three years, but he couldn’t do it without the support of his generous sponsors.
So he recently set up an Ebay account for his 2008 Sponsorship Auction, which includes all the details/guidelines for getting involved.
Whether you’re able to bid or not, definitely check out the auction page and see all the great things Ice Cream Man’s up to this year. In addition to feeding all you hipster concertgoers, he’ll be hitting a fair share of children’s hospitals and charity events around the country. We like Ice Cream Man.
The new iPhone comes out today. Which means if you have the old one, you are a loser. A worthless, useless loser with a dinosaur phone. Who do you think you are? Zack Morris with that dinosaur phone? Here’s what you can do with your old iPhone:
This past sunday, the only word one could really use to describe the Pool Party would be “soultastic.” Herbert Wiley, Roscoe Robinson, Herman Hitson, Ralph “Soul” Jackson (DUDE’S GOT SOUL IN HIS NAME!) and Ronnie Spector graced the pool on July 6th with funky grooves that had everybody gettin’ down. Check out the full photo coverage after the jump!
Tickets are very much on sale for the next “Secret Society Show” at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple!
Apples in Stereo will headline, sharing the bill with Earlimart and Poison Control Center.
The Apples are currently in the middle of their U.S. Electronic Projects Tour 2008, and they’ll be stopping by The Temple a mere four days before it all comes to an end with a sure-to-be-legendary appearance on Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report!
Tickets are only $10 and include a 1-year subscription to New York Magazine. You need to be clicking here now:
We all know that The Pool Parties offer a great way to escape the doldrums of the week: live music, awesome food, and cool activities. But it also offers another option for those more artistically inclined, since the pool is a damn fun place to photograph every week! I’m Jason Bergman and I’m here to introduce myself as JellyNYC’s official photographer for the 2008 Pool Parties. I photographed nearly every event last year (you can check out my archive here) and was super excited to be brought on as the official photographer for this year. Since I didn’t post last week, this post will highlight the drunken fun that The Hold Steady brought to Brooklyn last week. Check out more photos from last week’s show after the jump!
I’ve never met this Ryan Muir fella, but kudos to him for taking some great Pool Party pics! Photos from last Sunday’s Ronnie Spector show have been posted over at Brooklyn Vegan. Go post your own pics, or check out other people’s at the photo share section of the pool parties website.
Well, next time you’re dicking around checking if your ex-dude-or-girlfriend is still listed as ’single’, maybe stop by and add The Pool Parties new Myspace page:
We promise to stay single all summer. Promise us a couple Zimas, write an alluring comment or two, and you might just take our whole staff home.
After you friend us on the Internet, become our real-life friends, too!
Come hang out with us this Sunday. We were thinking McCarren Park Pool, around 2pm. We’ll be there, and so will our friends Ronnie Spector and The Rabbit Factory Soul Revue. You have to pay zero monies to hang with us.
