As you can tell from the photo above, a lot of people came out to Sundays show. Fans of Brooklyn’s own MGMT certainly don’t play around when it comes to waiting in line and some of had been waiting patiently since 8am! British sensations The Ting Tings started thing off with an energetic set that featured not one, not two, but three jump ropers who showed off their skills during the band’s last song. Black Moth Super Rainbow mellowed things out a bit with their psychedelic jams, but they were certainly no less impressive. And of course, MGMT made the people dance, weather be damned. Check out more photos after the jump.

One of the best shows I have ever been too. You guys put on one hell of a show. Can’t wait to see what you have next. Keep up the good work.

are you kidding me!?!? Jelly NYC needs to get their shit together that show sucked. Everything started way late and the fucking set changes took forever. It might have been a free show but i felt like i paid for it. Also pulling that first come first serve shit and doing away with the RSVPs the day before the show was a real dick move. At least then i wouldnt have come until 2 when the show was supposed to start (even tho it didnt really start till abour 3:30) instead of getting there at 11 to wait in line for hours. The sound was really good and the performances were decent but everything that went into the actual planning and running of the show was aweful.

“Also pulling that first come first serve shit and doing away with the RSVPs the day before the show was a real dick move.”

Just to clarify, there has not been any RSVP system at all for the summer 2008 shows. I don’t know where you are reading/hearing this, but it’s not the case. People still think this system is in place and if you look on the Jelly site and Pool Parties site you can see that they have tried to clarify this many, many times and people still try to do it. The doors for Pool Parties have always been at 2:30pm and every show usually starts sometime around 3:30pm, so it’s not like this past week was any different.

Jason, what was all that stuff about RSVPing on the site before the show then? Over a thousand people responded by rsvping, so ‘just to clarify’ what I’m saying is that thousands of people didn’t know that the Majestic 12 of Jelly NYC decided to take away the RSVP System. You seem to think that we’re all just has informed about the scene as you are, but sorry, we all aren’t hipsters from Brooklyn.

Well considering there was a post just a few days before about the fact that there is no RSVP list, I think it would be safe to say that was enough. Plus there are no posts stating that there IS an RSVP list, so why assume it would exist? If there was an RSVP system don’t you think it would be publicized or mentioned on the site.

And to be fair, I don’t live in Brooklyn.
